Don't Get Tricked On Halloween

These are some tips I am passing on from the Fall 2001 Safety Report with thanks to attorney Robyn Madden from South Carolina.

1. Have rules for your kids but don't scare them. Don't talk to strangers, look both ways crossing the street and have a buddy are good places to start.

2. Watch for cars.

3. If your teenager is going to his or her first Halloween party make sure driving distractions are held to a minimum.

4. If you're not with your child, make sure they have a cell phone.

5. If you're decorating your home, be there to prevent vandalism.

6. Have a meeting spot.

7. Don't eat anything that looks funny in the wrapping or preparation.

8. Have fun.
