A: Compartment syndrome is a condtion that presents with swelling and consequent increases of pressure within a closed compartment.  If usually affects the extremities or abdomen.  If left untreated, this swelling will cause a pressure overload and if left untreated will compress blood vessels, tendons and nerves running through the affected compartment.  This eventually will cause loss of function and tissue death.

In order to win a compartment syndrome claim we need to prove that signs and symptoms were ignored realting to pain out of proportion, paresthesia , paralysis, pallor and poikliothermia.  We would call experts to state the standard of care and how the standard of care was ignored which led to the injuries.

These cases are hard fought and the harms are significant.
