$175,000 jury verdict for wrong knee arthroscpic surgery
Client went in to have her right knee scoped for a minor meniscus tear. Physician had 6 surgeries scheduled in local out patient surgery center that day. Three left knee surgeries and three right knee surgeries. The first left knee surgery cancelled and client put in room set up for left knee. No time out was done which was required to identify the patient and surgery to be performed. Jury found all health care providers negligent with their verdict.
