Ski Patrol Reports Are Like Police Reports

Today, one of my house guests was knocked down by a skier and he hurt his hand.  He will never make a claim against anybody because a report was not made.  Usually when there is a car accident and there is no report, the parties will exchange information about how to contact one another for taking care of the property damage.  On the ski hill, that is rarely, if ever done.  If you think you may be hurt, because it may take 24 hours to figure out if you're hurt or not by your symptoms, either get the other party's information or make a report.  You don't want to deprive yourself of the right to recover, even if no claim will ever be made.

Last year I was broadsided by a guy.  Went up in the air and crashed down.  I felt fine and was a nice guy about it.   The next day and for the next several weeks I looked like Frankenstein when I walked.  I had chriopractice and therapy.  It took 4 months to recover.  I shut myself out for failing to get the necessary information or have a ski patrol report prepared.
