Making Premises Safer

A little over a month ago, I was injured crossing some railroad tracks in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on my bicycle.
The railroad ties were separated by a one inch gap that was a foot long and 8 inches deep.  My tire stuck in the gap and I flew off my bike, landing on my shoulder.  Having lititgated with the railroad before, I sent pictures to my contact at the railroad and yesterday I was notified that the crossing was being rebuilt to correct the dangerous condition.

If you see something that looks unsafe, it probably is.  It is best to report it to whomever has control over its upkeep.

This way, dangerous conditions are documented and more importantly, somebody may do something about it and prevent harm.
