Children need to wear helmets when they ride bikes.  This article describing the untimely death of a 6 year old, killed in her own neighborhood, says it all.   Parents should not assume that just because a child is in the neighborhood playing that the child is safe.  Bikes are dangerous.  Trucks are dangerous.  Things happen.  Show some responsiblity for your kids.  This is why children have parents.  Protect your little ones from personal injury and death.
